Help Keep Bear Creek Stables Open for the Next Generation of Equestrians

 

Friends of Bear Creek Stables (FBCS) is raising funds to keep Bear Creek Stables open, continue operations, and launch equine-based programs for the community. We're almost there - over 80% of the way to our fundraising goal - and we need your help to cross the finish line!

 

 

A Community Success Story

 

Last fall, the community came together and convinced the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen) to keep Bear Creek Stables OPEN.

 

 Midpen selected Friends of Bear Creek Stables, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to operate the facility and expand access to equine-based programs for riders of all ages and abilities.

 

With your support, FBCS will create programs for:

The Vision and the Challenge

 

Midpen is investing $6 million in infrastructure improvements at Bear Creek Stables - but before work begins, FBCS must raise $250,000 in operating funds to start offering programs.

 

Thanks to community generosity, we're already over 80% funded!

 

Double Your Impact

 

As of October 2025, the Mounted Patrol Foundation (MPF) has donated $10,000 and is matching all outside donations - dollar for dollar, up to another $10,000. That means your contribution will go twice as far in helping us reach our goal.

 

 

Visit Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve

 

Bear Creek Stables is located within the stunning Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve, just three miles south of Los Gatos. The preserve features:

  • Over 10 miles of scenic equestrian and hiking trails
  • 1,430 acres of redwoods, Douglas fir, and oak woodland
  • A rich ecosystem home to mountain lions, western pond turtles, salamanders, and bald eagles.
